Gospel Teaching Matthew 13:3-9 for July 10, 2020

Our Lord Jesus Christ frequently taught using parables.   The parable in today’s teaching describes to us one situation about “seed”.  As Christians, we perceive this parable actually refers us to another situation, that is “wisdom” or knowledge of the kingdom of God the Heavenly Father.

I sense Christ speaks to me through this parable saying something like “if you have wisdom to understand, then understand the will of our Heavenly Father, act according to His will, and bring forth good outcomes”.

‘The Lord said this parable, “A sower went out to sow.

And as he sowed, some seeds fell along the path, and the birds came and devoured them.

Other seeds fell on rocky ground, where they had not much soil, and immediately they sprang up, since they had no depth of soil, but when the sun rose they were scorched; and since they had no root they withered away.

Other seeds fell upon thorns, and the thorns grew up and choked them.

Other seeds fell on good soil and brought forth grain, some a hundredfold, some sixty, some thirty.

He who has ears to hear, let him hear.” ‘
