March 2, 2020 – Orthodox Christians begin our yearly Lenten season

Yearly Orthodox Christians have this Lenten season to help each of us to prepare for the annual upcoming Holy Pascha (“Easter”). Our faith calls upon each of us, that starts with “me”, to repent (“to turn about”) from the earthly focus and cares of our daily lives, and refocus our self and our entire being upon Jesus Christ.

To me, this Lenten period of the year “Great Lent”, is my opportunity to realize that while I have many shortcomings and “miss the mark” in so many, many ways, yet our Heavenly Father can and does forgive my shortcomings as I try my best to refocus my life on Jesus Christ, on Christ’s teachings, and on Christ’s examples as he shared for all of us through the scriptures of the Holy Bible.
