January 6th — Orthodox Christians celebrate “Epipfany” – revelation of the Holy Trinity – Father, Son, & Holy Spirit

Orthodox Christians celebrate with great joy the January 6th holy day called “Epiphany” or “Theophany” – the revealing all together of the Holy Trinity – Heavenly Father, Jesus Christ as the Son of God, and the Holy Spirit of God.

We celebrate the water baptism of Jesus Christ in the River Jordan by John the Baptist. St Luke’s Gospel 3:19-22 reports “… Now when all the people were baptized, and when Jesus also had been baptized and was praying, the heaven was opened, and the Holy Spirit descended upon him in bodily form, as a dove, and a voice came from heaven, “You are my beloved Son; with you I am well pleased.”…”

I’m personally always in awe about these moments where the Holy Bible describes the Heavenly Father’s voice and message so strong and clear! January 6th, “Holy Epiphany”, “Holy Theophany”, the appearance of God, is to me a very significant scriptural testimony which witnesses for me my belief that Jesus Christ is the Son of God! I hope you also will find joy in celebrating this very special event.
